When patients come to see us with their foot and ankle injuries we invariably seek the expertise of our specialist Consultant Radiologists. They have extensive knowledge and experience in musculoskeletal radiology.

Richard Hughes studied at Oxford University Medical School where he qualified with BM BCh. Dr Hughes attained membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1998 and trained in Radiology at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals. He was appointed as a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital London in 2004 before taking up his current Consultant appointment at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in 2007.
Richard’s subspeciality interests include musculoskeletal, sports and spinal imaging and intervention. His private and NHS practice is predominantly musculoskeletal ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI, and he undertakes a wide range of image-guided MSK and spinal interventions.
Richard regularly lectures on the National and International circuit and has published widely in the field of musculoskeletal and spinal imaging. He is an active but slowing veteran footballer and when away from work enjoys travel, running and a variety of ball sports.
Dr Sarah Yanny studied medicine at the Royal Free and University College Hospital, before attaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2006. Dr Yanny trained in Radiology at the Norwich Radiology Academy during which time she completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Hospital, Oxford.
Her subspeciality interests include musculoskeletal, sports and spinal imaging with intervention. She is proficient at musculoskeletal ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI, and undertakes a wide range of image-guided musculoskeletal and spinal interventions.
She has an interest in education and research, teaching on several regional courses and has published several musculoskeletal papers in peer-review journals as well as reviews and book chapters.
